It all began in Clarksville, Arkansas in 1938. Today the Johnson County Peach Festival is the oldest festival in the State. Come join us July 30 through August 01, 2015, for the Peach Festival, and July 24-25 for the Princess Elberta, Little Mister, Teeny, Tiny, Petite, Pre-Teen,Teen, Queen and Mrs. Peach pageants and July 25 for the Miss Arkansas Valleys Outstanding Teen, Miss Arkansas Valley and Queen Elberta pageants. Thursday, July 30, concessionaires bring their wares from good ol' home cookin' to handmade arts and crafts. That afternoon there is a scavenger hunt scheduled as well as the banana split contest. That evening showcases a talent contest and cinema. Plan to stay all day Friday with events such as a diaper derby, helicopter tours, bicycle obstacle course, the Kids' Zone (inflatables) and skateboard contest as well as a peach cobbler and jam and jelly bake-off and a peach pie eating contest. Live entertainment begins at 7:00 p.m. followed by the free street dance featuring "On The Verge." The 4-mile run kicks off Saturday activities followed by various events including a fishing derby, greased pig chase, frog jump, terrapin derby, peach eating contest, and cardboard boat regatta. The parade begins at 7:00 p.m. followed by a concert by The Diplomats and a street dance featuring a local D.J. On Sunday there will be a Horseshoe tournament. Hope to see you there!!!!
